Ninny Noodle Noo stocks a range of heirloom and high-quality toys, including beautiful hand-crafted and hand-painted Ostheimer wooden toy figures; toys from Spiel & Holz, Kinderkram, Erzi and Haba; inspirational tales from Barefoot Books; wonderful hand-made Waldorf dolls from Pogglers; organic children's clothing from Arabella Miller and Kate Quinn Organics.

The business was set up in 2005 by WAHM, Nicola Haxell, in response to her love of wooden toys and interest in finding environmentally sustainable and considerate alternatives to many of the toys available for children on the High Street for her daughter, the original 'Ninny Noodle Noo'.

The emphasis is on sourcing products from Europe (although Kate Quinn Organics are in the USA, but as we have made a commitment to only stock items sourced from Europe in the future we are phasing this range out). The majority of toys on site originate from Germany. On the whole the wood used to make the toys is sourced from European sustainable hardwood forests and waste in production is minimised. The toys stocked do not generally come with plastic packaging (with a couple of exceptions from Haba, Erzi and Barefoot Books - but in these cases the plastic packaging is minimal). The companies the products are sourced from also seek to send their products out packed in more environmentally considerate packaging, i.e. compostable packaging chips, paper, etc.

Where possible Ninny Noodle Noo uses recycled packaging to send out orders. Occasionally bubble wrap is used, but this is recycled from other packages - much better to re-use it than just throw it away!
